“Give my head peace” is something we’ve all heard — or said — growing up in Northern Ireland. It’s usually thrown out when things get a bit too much. A way of saying “leave me alone”, “stop going on”, or “I just need a break.”
It’s a phrase full of personality — straight-talking, relatable, and part of everyday life here.
The saying became even more widely known thanks to the TV series Give My Head Peace, which aired from 1998 and used humour to explore life in Northern Ireland after the Troubles. It helped cement the phrase in local culture.
At HeadPeace, we’ve taken that same phrase and given it a new direction.
To us, it’s not just about wanting quiet — it’s about needing space. Clarity. Calm.
Peace of mind.
That’s what our work is about: helping young people find mental space through breathwork, mindfulness, self-care and real-life tools for dealing with stress, overwhelm, and tough emotions.
We chose “HeadPeace” because it connects with people here. It says something simple and honest.
We’re not trying to sound clinical or corporate — we’re trying to start real conversations, in real places, with real people.
And we think everyone deserves a bit more peace in their heads
